Team News & Match Tips:

  • It is the start of a fresh season so the lineups are VERY uncertain for both sides. For the first 7-10 days of the season, only trust players of pedigree who have done well in the past seasons.
  • Jeje is out injured for Chennaiyin FC.
  • John Johnson is an injury doubt for ATK.
  • My Verdict: This is a classic rivalry between the two-time champions. ATK had a mediocre campaign last season. Chennaiyin FC were awful and finished last. Both failed to make the playoffs. ATK played well against Kerala Blasters on Sunday but I felt they were a little unlucky to lose that match. They destroyed Hyderabad 5-0 last week. Tonight’s match will be a much difficult challenge, however. Chennaiyin FC have changed a lot of players in their squad and it remains to be seen how well they gel and perform this season. They have not yet scored a goal in the ISL so far. I am going for a narrow away win. However, I feel all 3 results are equally probable tonight.
